Changelog

This page lists meaningful changes we make to the site’s content, translation data, and technical setup, so you can see what’s changed and when. Smaller wording tweaks and formatting fixes aren’t logged here — this is for substantive corrections and updates.

26 August 2026

  • Fixed a broken site logo reference in the site’s Organization structured data (was pointing to a missing image file).
  • Removed leftover placeholder structured data on the homepage that incorrectly described an unrelated demo article.
  • Added missing main headings (H1) to three pages: Norse Symbols and Meanings, Norse Names and Meanings, and Norse Tattoos and Meanings.
  • Updated the site’s underlying theme software to the latest version.
  • Added social preview images to five category pages (Runes & Futhark, Viking/Norse Names, Old Norse, Medieval Translator, Norse Meanings) that previously had none.
  • Published this Changelog along with our Methodology, Sources & Corpora, Reviewers, and Corrections Policy pages.
  • Fixed the Old Norse Translator tool: added the missing word “am” (completing the existing is/are/was/were verb forms) and “family” to the dictionary, and added a beta-limitation notice above the tool explaining how it works and its limits.
  • Corrected the Rune Translator page: fixed two wrong example outputs in the “LOVE” and “Viking” rune conversions, fixed the “I love you” example to match the Old Norse translator’s actual output, fixed a typo, replaced raw keyword-list sections with plain-language explanations, and merged the duplicate Conclusion/Final Verdict sections into one.
  • Corrected the Medieval Text Generator page: removed a false “Will → Wilt” example (the word isn’t in the dictionary), corrected the claim that the tone selector (Standard/Noble/Funny/Insult) changes output — it currently doesn’t, removed a fabricated “Best Medieval Generator Tools” listicle ranking non-existent products, rewrote the autocorrect and font-styling sections to describe what the tool actually does, replaced raw keyword-list sections with plain-language text, and merged the duplicate Conclusion/Final Verdict sections.
  • Corrected the Medieval Words and Phrases page: the title, on-page heading, and meta description all claimed “500+ terms,” but the page actually lists around 50 — updated the title, SEO title/description, and intro text to remove the false count, and merged the duplicate Conclusion/Final Verdict sections.
  • Corrected the Rune Tattoo Generator page: fixed a wrong “Strength” rune example that didn’t match the live tool’s output, removed a stray leftover text fragment at the end of the FAQ section, and merged the duplicate Conclusion/Final Verdict sections. The page’s Elder/Younger Futhark explanation and other rune examples were checked and found accurate.
  • Corrected the Viking Name Generator page: it claimed to generate clan names, kingdom/place names, fantasy epithets, god names, funny names, and HTTYD-style names, and included a self-comparison table for these — but the tool only generates single first names (male, female, or neutral) from a list of 65 real Old Norse, Anglo-Saxon, Germanic, and Celtic names with documented meanings. Removed the fabricated sections and comparison table, rewrote the page to accurately describe what the tool does, added real name examples verified against the tool’s own data, fixed the SEO title/description (also claimed clan names), fixed two broken internal guide links, and merged the duplicate Conclusion/Final Verdict sections.
  • Fixed the Modern to Medieval Translator tool page: removed false claims that the tool converts “Does” to “Doth” and “Will” to “Wilt” (neither word is in the tool’s 13-word dictionary), corrected the description of tone options to reflect that they only add an opening phrase rather than changing grammar or vocabulary, replaced a comparison table that falsely claimed AI-context and grammar-correction features, reworded the “autocorrect” framing to clarify the tool updates a separate output box rather than rewriting your typed input, converted a keyword list into natural prose, and merged the duplicated Conclusion and Final Verdict sections.
  • Fixed the homepage: removed the unsupported “accurately” claim from the hero subtitle and Rank Math meta description (the embedded Old Norse translator has known accuracy limitations, consistent with the beta notice already on the Old Norse Translator page), fixed a grammar typo (“Norse Vikings Names” → “Norse Viking Names”), and replaced the thin, awkwardly auto-truncated Quick Tools excerpt blurbs with clear, accurate one-line descriptions by setting proper excerpt fields on the 5 linked tool posts (Rune Translator, Viking Name Generator, Old Norse Translator, Old Norse Alphabet Translator, English to Old Norse Translator).
  • Fixed the Norse Tattoos and Meanings page: fixed a broken “Important Guides” link (was pointing to a nonexistent /norse-gods-names-meanings/ URL, now correctly points to /norse-gods-goddesses/), removed an off-topic “FaithHeart Norse Viking Meaning” section that name-dropped a specific third-party jewelry brand with no real connection to this site’s expertise, and merged the duplicated Conclusion and Final Verdict sections into one, adding a note encouraging readers to cross-check any rune or symbol meaning against a dedicated source before getting it tattooed.
